Company News

The year 2021 holds something different for everyone; for Ingman Marine, 2021 represents 40 years of business. Initially known as Gasparilla Marine Sales, Ingman Marine is a family business, having been passed down from generation to generation and has become one of the most popular boat dealerships in Southwest Florida.

How we got Started

In the beginning, Ingman Marine was just a single location, modest, and cozy family-owned business. Richard Ingman founded Gasparilla Marine Sales in 1981, in Southwest Florida. The company was started in the hopes of passing the love for the ocean, fishing, and boating to his family and the people in the community. The business added a new location in Port Charlotte in 1991, and changed its name, becoming Ingman Marine. As it stands today, the business has locations in Port Charlotte, Placida, Sarasota, and North Fort Myers, and is considered one of the most knowledgeable and appreciated marine dealerships in Florida.

Growing Ingman Marine

Richard’s drive and experience ensured that the business was primed for growth and expansion. Today, there are 4 locations available for buyers. All 4 locations are different and can be found throughout the Southwestern part of Florida, covering an area reaching from the Sunshine Skyway Bridge up to Bonita Springs. Land coverage isn’t the only thing Ingman Marine has in store, though. Our website allows us to have nationwide coverage, in order to sell both new and pre-owned boats.

Richard eventually passed the company to his son, Gary Ingman and Gary is now preparing his son, Jordan, to take over at the helm. The third generation is beginning the transition, keeping Richards dream of business and family running. Growth would not have been possible without years of experience. We use this experience in our commitment to customers and to provide the best products in the marine industry. Our boat dealership has a few objectives which have stayed the same throughout the years – making your boating experience safe, as well as economical, and enjoyable.

Community Service and Sponsorships

The Community is important for Ingman Marine, and we show this by supporting many teams and causes.

We proudly support and promote The Premiere youth soccer, The Bandits youth football, and their respective cheerleaders. We also support The Port Charlotte Little League’s youth baseball teams.

Ingman Marine is actively involved in fundraising for the local high school’s athletics department, as well as Habitat for Humanity and the Charlotte County Homeless Coalition, helping families in need. Habitat for Humanity worked closely with Ingman Marine, to give back to the local community. Over the years our teams have been able to assist in the construction of 13 homes for families in need.

Ingman is a proud sponsor of many fishing tournaments, such as the Miller Lite PTTS, which is one of the largest tournaments ever sponsored by the company. Another example is the Flatmasters Tournament, located in Punta Gorda, which takes place throughout the year.

There are many causes that we support, and these were just a few examples. Here is a full list of the community service events and projects we have been involved in and our list of sponsorships can be found here.

Final Words

Things change throughout the years – and in this case, things got better. Products might have changed, but Ingman Marine has always remained consistent in our quality offerings and outstanding service.
