Cobia boats are made by Maverick Boat Group, based in Fort Pierce, Florida. Maverick Boat Group builds four saltwater brands under one roof: Cobia, Maverick, Hewes, and Pathfinder. The company was founded in 1984 by Scott Deal and has been owned by Malibu Boats, a publicly traded company, since 2021. Cobia is the group's offshore and dual console line, known for center consoles built to fish hard and carry the family in comfort.
