Maverick boats are made by Maverick Boat Group, based in Fort Pierce, Florida. Maverick is the brand that started the company: Scott Deal founded the business in 1984, then added Hewes, created Pathfinder, and bought Cobia, building all four under one roof. Since 2021, Maverick Boat Group has been owned by Malibu Boats, a publicly traded company. Maverick itself focuses on technical poling skiffs, the lightweight, ultra-shallow boats built for serious flats fishing.
