Sea Hunt boats are owned by the Roof family, who founded Sea Hunt Boat Company in 1995. Father and son Vic and Bubba Roof started the company in a small one-room shop outside Columbia, South Carolina, and built it into one of the best-selling saltwater boat brands in the United States. Sea Hunt is still privately owned and family-run, with Bubba Roof now serving as president and CEO. The company has stayed independent rather than joining a larger boat conglomerate, and the family's hands-on approach, including inspecting every boat, remains a point of pride.
