On models under 20 feet, that foam provides level flotation, which means the boat will float upright even if it is swamped. Larger Grady-White boats have basic flotation foam packed around the stringers. Grady-White goes further than many builders here, since foam is not even required on boats over 20 feet. So while no Grady-White is technically unsinkable, the brand is built with a real safety margin in mind.
