Pathfinder boats are owned by Maverick Boat Group, which has been part of Malibu Boats, a publicly traded company, since 2021. Maverick Boat Group founder Scott Deal created the Pathfinder bay boat in 1998, and it has been built at the company's Fort Pierce, Florida plant ever since, alongside the Maverick, Hewes, and Cobia brands. Pathfinder remains the group's flagship bay boat line and one of the best-selling bay boats in the United States.
