Yamaha bought Skeeter in 1996. Yamaha Motor Corporation acquired Skeeter Boats that year, combining Skeeter's long history of building high-performance fishing boats with Yamaha's outboard engine technology. Since then, every new Skeeter has come rigged with Yamaha power from the factory. The partnership has helped Skeeter keep its place as a leading bass and bay boat brand, with Yamaha's resources backing the boats built at Skeeter's plant in Kilgore, Texas.
