Skeeter boats are owned by Yamaha Motor Corporation. Yamaha acquired Skeeter in 1996, and the brand has been part of the Yamaha family ever since. Because of that, every new Skeeter comes rigged with Yamaha outboard power from the factory, matching the boat and engine together. Skeeter still builds its bass boats and SX bay boats at its plant in Kilgore, Texas, where the brand has been based for decades. Being owned by Yamaha gives Skeeter the backing of a major engine maker while it keeps building the high-performance fishing boats it is known for.
