Bennington Marine is owned by Polaris, the publicly traded company (NYSE: PII) known for off-road vehicles, snowmobiles, and Indian Motorcycle. Polaris bought Bennington's parent company, then called Boat Holdings, in 2018, and Bennington still operates under that group today, now called Pontoon Boat, LLC. Bennington itself was founded in 1997 in Elkhart, Indiana, and remains the best-selling pontoon brand in the United States. Being part of Polaris gives Bennington the backing of a large company while it keeps building its premium pontoons and tritoons in Indiana.
